Martijn Schoonvelde

Martijn Schoonvelde is an Assistant Professor in Political Science at University College Dublin, co-founder of the Connected_Politics Lab, and programme coordinator of the MSc Politics and Data Science at UCD. In various research projects, Schoonvelde uses computational text analysis methods to study the rhetoric of politicians (both within parliament and out in the public) in the context of party competition and when faced with electoral stress. Methodologically, Schoonvelde also works on developing best practices for conducting multilingual text analysis and studying images as a form of political communication at scale.
